About Yael
Yael Eve (she/her) is an actor, creator, and cat lover from Los Angeles, CA. She is an ardent storyteller whose love of people and language led her to acting. She is in her fourth year at University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where she is pursuing a BFA in Drama. Yael gravitates towards stories that demand courage, preternatural vulnerability, wit, and verbal dexterity. She loves to share in laughter; physical comedy and dark, absurd humor particularly light her up.
The child of two philosophers, Yael is hard-wired to ask: ‘why’. She finds joy in the unknown and strives to imbue her entire life, and most definitely her artistry, with curiosity, play, and a sense of wonder.
In addition to acting, Yael is passionate about creating new works and uplifting unheard voices. For the past three years, she has been directing and writing a devised piece of theatre exploring the lives of women impacted by the American Carceral system. She fervently believes that art is capable of participating in tangible, systemic change by encouraging people to call into question, to ask ‘why’. James Baldwin puts it perfectly, “The purpose of art is to lay bare the questions that have been hidden by the answers.”
